The French armed forces have landed 120 of their military personnel in the Menaka district of north-east Mali, the Defense Post reported.

According to the source, two military transport planes C-160 Transall and Airbus A400M were brought to the landing operation. From the sides of each of them landed 40 French paratroopers.

“Around 80 were dropped from the two C-160s and 40 from the A400M into a region where Malian forces and a company from Barkhane are already present,” French armed forces spokesperson Colonel Patrik Steiger said.
