Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Haaretz reported.

Vladimir Putin and Benjamin Netanyahu will meet for the first time after a Russian plane was shot down over Syria by Syrian forces.

As reported earlier, 15 Russian military officers were killed when Syria’s S-200 air defense system shot down a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft on September 17 over the Mediterranean Sea.

The Israel Defense Forces, in its turn, noted noted that the Syrian air defense systems were inaccurate in the area when Israeli aircraft had already left the zone of destruction.
