YEREVAN.- Amendments to the Electoral Code should be adopted this month, in October, in order to hold early parliamentary elections in December, Daniel Ioannisyan, the Secretary of the Committee on the Amendments to the Electoral Code adjunct to the Prime Minister, told reporters on Tuesday after a public discussion on the Electoral Code Reform Project.
According to him, if the bill is adopted this month, they will manage to hold elections with a new Code.
Nevertheless, Ioannisyan did not exclude that the elections could be held by the current Code.
"If there are no problems in the National Assembly, the Code will be changed and the elections will be held under the amended Electoral Code. If the parliament does not create problems, we will change the code, "he said.
