About half an hour ago the Egyptian army issued a second, neutral, statement confirming the positions held by President Hosni Mubarak and Vice President Omar Suleiman, one of our readers, Anzhela Harutyunyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
 
"The military`s statement was rather disappointing. It reiterated the calls for return to normal life by President Hosni Mubarak and Vice President Omar Suleiman," Harutyunyan said. She added that the people are not going to leave. Rather, they are determined to take further steps.

"The Friday prayer is shortly to take place here, after which the demonstrators will be joined by other large groups," Harutyunyan said. She pointed out that numerous young people are among the demonstrators.

As regards the Opposition`s stance on the current situation, Harutyunyan said that, like the Egyptian President, the official Opposition is silent.

Armenian News-NEWS-am reminds readers that, despite the forecasts, in his televised address to the nation, President Hosni Mubarak refused to announce his resignation and transfer of his powers to Vice President Omar Suleiman. Milliuons of people that gathered in the streets in Cairo and other cities demand the President`s resignation.
