Protestors reached the presidential palace in Cairo last night and remain there at the moment, said Anzhela Harutyunyan, the Armenian News-NEWS.am reader in Cairo.

Talking on the phone, Anzhela Harutyunyan, a lecturer at the American University of Cairo, noted information on clashes between the army and demonstrators is untrue.

“About 5,000 people are gathered near the presidential palace. The situation is calm, the army does nothing to crack down on protesters,” she said, adding she is near the building of Egypt’s state television.

“About 5,000-6,000 people are gathered near the television building. Tanks and military personnel are deployed here,” she said.

According to press reports, President Mubarak and his family have left Egypt.
