The Azerbaijani authorities seek to reach a deal with founder of Wikileaks Julian Assange through their lobbyist organizations. Two meetings were held with Assange’s attorneys, however, no information is available on the outcome of the talks.

It is noteworthy, no authorities of other countries have tried to come into contact with the WikiLeaks founder. Aliyev taking the first step suggests that WikiLeaks has information at its disposal that is crucial for Aliyev. It is not ruled out that one of the London’s newspapers cooperating with the WikiLeaks, for instance The Guardian, informed the Azerbaijani leader of the existing documents.

Will Julian Assange be found? Why not? How much his silence is worth? Of course, this is not the most important issue. The point is that Azerbaijan may become a captive of Assange and mainstream media, consequently, a victim of those governments, in which media publishes the documents.

How much these governments will demand?  It is up to Azerbaijan to decide.
