The presidents of Russia Vladimir Putin made a joint statement with his French  and Turkish counterparts Emmanuel Macron and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as well as German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the results of the four-way summit in Istanbul, RP reported.

According to Russian leader, a serious work has been carried out on the harmonization of approaches on the fundamental issues of the Syrian settlement.

The adopted joint statement reflects the attitude of Russia, Turkey, Germany and France to further expand cooperation in the interests of normalizing the situation in the Syria, launching an effective inter-Syrian dialogue and carrying out the necessary state reforms and transformations, he added.

The meeting lasted three hours.
