Retired Turkish General Cetin Dogan spoke to reporters before surrendering himself at a courthouse in Istanbul on February 14, 2011, Gazete5 website reports.
Turkish police arrested 163 out of 196 suspects, including former top commanders, who are on trial, charged with plotting to bring down the government of the Islamically rooted Justice and Development Party. Dogan, a former commander of the First Army, was among the defendants that the court ordered to be arrested.
