The Armenian leadership was miscalculated, trying to “coerce” Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) “to sign a document binding it cooperation between the coalition parties in the parliamentary and presidential elections scheduled for 2012 and 2013 respectively, political expert Yervand Bozoyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to him, initially it was clear that Prosperous Armenia will not take this step and the initiative of the Armenian leadership failed, putting the authorities in an awkward spot. “As a result, the rating of PAP, which was higher than that of the Republican Party of Armenia, even more increased,” the expert said.

Bozoyan noted the secession of PAP from the ruling coalition is only a matter of time. “At the moment PAP is inexpedient to leave the ruling coalition, as it is buying time and will do it on the threshold of parliamentary elections,” the expert concluded.
