Governments of Turkey and the United Kingdom are conducting joint negotiations for signing of a military agreement to participate in joint exercises and experience exchange.

Britain hopes to revise the memorandum signed between the two governments on Turkey’s accession to the European Union. Much will depend on conducting joint military exercises, during which Britain hopes to train its pilots in Turkey, since it has similar terrain to Afghanistan, reports RBC referring to The Wall Street Journal.

Recall that in October 2010 the British government made a decision to reduce the military budget to 7.5% over the next four years.
