The nephew of the governor of the Syunik region of Armenia Suren Khachatryan’s nephew Mais Khachatryan was released on parole.

According to Haykakan Zhamanak, Mais Khachatryan was sentenced to 12 years in prison for premeditated murder in 2004.

Mais Khachatryan, along with his cousin (another nephew of the Governor of Syunik) Eynerom Khachatryan, on February 29, 2004 had stabbed and killed a 34-year-old resident of Goris, father of two children Hovhannes Badalyan.

Badalian in the dark without noticing Eynera Khachatryan lightly bumped into him, for which he was brutally murdered. E. Khachatryan received 1.5 years in prison and was released on parole. Usually, convicted of premeditated murder are not paroled before the completion of the sentence in Armenia, says Haykakan Zhamanak.
