Trying to keep in the background former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan makes attempts to undermine domestic political situation in Armenia with the help of Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), oppositionist said on Wednesday.
Member of the oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) David Shahnazaryan noted supported by West the ruling party headed by Serzh Sargsyan is trying to preserve its positions, while Kocharyan, with the help of PAP, is trying to show he gets support of the Kremlin.
“I can declare with all responsibility it is ruled out that Moscow backs Robert Kocharyan,” he said.
According to him, the Armenian society is full of hatred towards Robert Kocharyan. Shahnazaryan considers former president’s moves are just a show.
The Armenian National Congress is an oppositional union founded in 2008 headed by first president of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan. Oppositional union comprises 17 political parties.
