The Heritage parliamentary faction has put forward an initiative to invalidate a number of amendments to the RA Customs Code.

The faction proposes invalidating the provision setting a 15-day term for cars with Georgian registration plates entering the Armenian territory. According to the provision, after the 15-term expires, Georgian cars are to subject to customs clearance. It caused public discontent. The Heritage faction proposes invalidating the provision.

"We are sure that the amendment protects the interests of thousands of Armenian families. It also has social and demographic consequences. However, the law currently in effect is aimed to ensure the priority of state budget revenues, but breeds poverty and poses emigration risks. It also restricts Javakhk Armenians` movement about Armenia. The draft will ensure efficient customs policy, accomplishment of economic tasks and social support for the population," the faction`s statement says.
