The Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) will join a new coalition memorandum which will be signed today at 17:30 p.m. at the presidential residence. The decision was made at today’s meeting of the party with the participation of MPs, governors and PAP member ministers.
Talking to the journalists today, party’s leader Gagik Tsarukyan said the decision is conditioned by a difficult socio- economic and geopolitical situation. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan needs support of the ruling forces to tackle the problems and present interests of the Armenian people in international arena. “That is the reason the PAP will support a single candidate, in the person of incumbent president, together with other coalition forces for 2013 presidential election,” Tsarukyan said.
Armenia’s ruling coalition includes Republican Party of Armenia, Prosperous Armenia Party, and Orinats Yerkir Party (the Rule of Law).
The Prosperous Armenia is a political party included in the ruling coalition. Founded by Armenian businessman Gagik Tsarukyan it debuted in 2007 Armenian parliamentary elections, winning 18 seats in Armenia’s National Assembly.
