A rally of the oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) has kicked off in the center of Yerevan.
The protest action is dedicated to the 2008 presidential election, Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s supporters insist the elections were rigged.
Opening the rally chairman of Armenian National Movement board Aram Manukyan said a new wave of rallies which will focus on economic and social problems will start. Manukayn also welcomed the recent unrests in Egypt and Tunis calling them evidence of a victory of struggle for freedom.
Several thousands are participating in a rally, the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reported.
The Armenian National Congress is an oppositional union founded in 2008 headed by first president of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan. Oppositional union comprises 17 political parties.
