Hundreds gathered for a peaceful protest in Oman on Friday demanding political, economic and educational reforms, the Omani and Arab media outlets reported.

According to the Oman newspaper, hundreds of people, including women, gathered in Oman’s capital Maskata to hold a “peaceful Green March”, RIA Novosti reported.

The protestors were carrying posters with slogans in support of Oman’s Sultan Qaboos calling for reforms, fight against corruption, lower prices and better wages.

The Asharq Alawsat newspaper reported police was not interfering with the demonstration.

Earlier this week newly appointed Omani Ambassador to Armenia Mohammed bin Avad al-Hosan (residence in Moscow) visited Armenia to present his credentials to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian.
