New Georgia’s strategy concept says Russia is enemy

A new draft of Georgia’s national strategy concept was submitted for discussion on February 18.

The document’s main provisions are related to relations with Russia, in particular “occupation of Georgia’s territory by the Russian troops” and “risk of possible Russian aggression”.

Russia is mentioned as the main threat to Georgia’s national security, whereas U.S. and Baltic states are called Georgia’s allies.

Certain Georgian parliamentarians, including oppositional Fair Georgia Party, refused to discuss a new draft bill, calling Mikheil Saakashvili unbalanced politician, ЕвроСМИ website reported.
