The vacant post of Ombudsman is a gross violation of law, Larisa Alaverdyan, a member of the Heritage parliamentary faction, told journalists Feb. 21.

"In case the Ombudsman resigns, he may transfer his powers to another person. With respect to the Gyumri drivers I called the Ombudsman`s office and was told that no one, including the head of staff, has no legal right to act as Ombudsman. In fact, we will have no Ombudsman for almost a month, which is a violation of point 3 of Article 18 of the Armenian Constitution," Alaverdyan said.
