In a televised statement late on Monday Libya’s President Muammar Gaddafi said he had not fled the country.
“I am in Tripoli, not Venezuela as rumors say,” he stated, RIA Novosti reported.
World press has reported that Gaddafi had left the country but information was soon refuted.
Riots in the east of Libya are ongoing from February 16. Protesters are demanding the overthrow of the Muammar Gaddafi, who runs the country for over 40 years.
Yesterday one citizen of Armenia contacted the Armenian Embassy in Egypt from Libya. Man’s name is not disclosed for security reasons. It is revealed that a man was working in Libya.
