Turkish authorities are hoping for the abolition of additional US duties on steel and aluminum imports, said Turkish Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan.

According to her, Ankara hopes for release from US sanctions against Iran for the import of Iranian oil for a period of 6 months, Bloomberg reported.

“We expect an extension of Turkey’s exemption” from sanctions, Pekcan said in an interview with NTV in Ankara.

In August, Washington doubled the tariffs on Turkish steel and aluminum, due to tensions in relations between NATO allies because of the case of American pastor Andrew Brunson.
