The velvet revolution had one clear message that this was a domestic political issue; there was no geopolitics in this process, Armenian Acting Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said in an interview with Public TV.

Asked to comment whether the foreign policy has also changed after latest political developments in April-May 2018, Mnatsakanyan noted: "In those days, there was only one flag - Armenian flag. Armenia's foreign policy has been built for 27 years so that it could make our security more comprehensive. We must be careful taking any abrupt step. There was no intention of strong foreign policy changes. We are applying our foreign policy to our national security."

According to him, democracy is a component of security in Armenia, since democratic Armenia is much stronger.

"We should have legitimacy inside. It is very important to capitalize our reputation,” he said adding “we are able to activate the dialogue in different ways."
