Libyan Interior Minister Abdul Fattah Younis called on the army to join the people demanding to overthrow Muammar Gaddafi’s regime, reported Al jazeera.
The head of Libya’s Interior Ministry announced his resignation and urged the army to join the people. On the amateur footage, Younis read out a statement in which he also named the legitimate demands of the Libyan people.
On the eve of February 22 Muammar Gaddafi appeared on national television. In his address to the people, he said that he does not have a post that he could leave. He is not the president, he is the leader of the revolution - and he will die as a martyr in this land, said Gaddafi, speaking in front of his residence in Tripoli.
