The index of prices for 470 consumer products calculated by the Statistical Service of Armenia does not reflect the real situation, Tatul Manaseryan, Economic Advisor to the Armenian Parliament Speaker, told journalists February 23.
He presented his calculations of changes of prices for a number of food products. The figures are considerably different. According to Manaseryan, the potato price showed a 100% rise last December as compared with December 2009. The apple price showed a 500% rise, onions price a 100% rise and the price for meat and bread a 20% rise.
Also, the data on production in the Armenian cities do not include the information on villages.
