Armenia’s ruling coalition offered Karen Andreasyan as a candidate for the post of ombudsman, secretary of Republican parliamentary group Eduard Sharmazanov told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

He noted that coalition chose Andreasyan for his high professional skills, education and work experience, Sharmazanov added.

Ombudsman will be voted by secret ballot during four-day parliamentary session. At the moment the coalition is holding negotiations with ARF Dashnaktsutyun. Today the candidate is expected to meet with the representatives of parliamentary groups. However, the Heritage party was not aware of a nomination, as well as forthcoming meeting. Party’s MP Armen Martirosyan said if Andreasyan is elected he will be another political appointee.

Karen Andreasyan was a lawyer of Armenia TV channel but left the company last year.
