The EU expressed support for the Venezuelan parliament led by the opposition politician, she noted.
According to her, the Venezuelan people demand democracy and the ability to freely make decisions about their own destiny.
The EU representative warned against restrictions on civil rights, freedom and security of the self-proclaimed Venezuelan President Juan Guaido, as well as other members of the Venezuelan National Assembly.
Violence and cruelty of the security forces are absolutely unacceptable, she added.
According to her, the EU is ready to support the restoration both of democracy and the rule of law in Venezuela with the help of a trustworthy peaceful political process, which will be held in accordance with the constitution.
