The Azg daily commented on the newly appointed U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan, the former U.S. Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group Matthew Bryza’s statement that “Not a single regional issue is more important than resolution of the Karabakh conflict in the context of regional peace.”
“If Azerbaijani mass media conveys Bryza’s words accurately or if he does not declare that his words were misinterpreted, such a statement, of course, should not be taken as accidental. Consequently, it turns out that except for Karabakh conflict the United States do not see other conflicts in the region, which could be more or less important. Therefore, according to Bryza, the U.S. no longer considers conflicts of Abkhazia and South Ossetia?” the daily says.
