Changes in the Armenian government structure did not affect EU programs, the head of the EU delegation in Armenia, EU Ambassador to Armenia Piotr Switalski told reporters on Saturday.

His remarks came during his visit to the ski center funded by the EU in Ashotsk village.

The initiative to stimulate the development of tourism in the three northern regions was presented under the previous authorities and will continue to be implemented, the envoy noted.

According to him, the EU has been making efforts for the development of regions of the country.

“We are sure that one of the problems of the imbalance is rich Yerevan and poor provinces. Two years ago, pilot regional development programs were developed. Thus, the start of more active participation of the EU in the development of the Armenian regions was announced,” Switalski said.

The envoy noted that such programs will allow attracting additional investments.
