The socialists are leading after the Central Electoral Commission has recorded the counting of the 95 percent of the ballots that were cast in Sunday’s parliamentary election in Moldova.

Accordingly, the Socialist Party has garnered 31.75 percent of the votes for party lists, Point reported.

But no political force has yet received the amount of votes needed to become parliamentary majority on its own.

Election by way of mixed electoral system—50 people through party lists and 51 people from single-mandate constituencies—is conducted in the country for the first time.

As reported earlier, 106 observers from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries—including Armenia—the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, the CIS Executive Committee, as well as from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State were monitoring the Moldovan parliamentary election.
