President Donald Trump has nominated diplomat Michael Satterfield as the next US ambassador to Turkey, the White House announced.
The nomination of Satterfield has been sent to the Senate, which will debate on the matter and, subsequently, either approve or reject this nomination.
But the US and Turkey still have disagreements on Syria and several other key issues, according to RIA Novosti.
