Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said the purchase of S 400 systems from Russia is a done deal, despite Washington’s attempts to urge Turkey to buy Patriot systems, Reuters reported.

The U.S. and NATO representatives warned Ankara that the Russian system cannot be integrated in anti-missile air defense of the Alliance, and the purchase of S 400 system will pose a threat for Turkey’s aspirations to buy Lockheed Martin Corp F-35 fighter jets and will possibly result in U.S. sanctions.
