On 1 March, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Tigran Sargsyan had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Russian Federation D. Bala Venkatesh Verma at the headquarters of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), reports the EEC press service.

“India’s economic growth is truly impressive. We believe the sustainable growth will improve the country’s positions in the global economy. Moreover, India represents a tremendous market, and Armenia’s companies would like to be more represented in India. We are also interested in Indian businessmen’s activity in the markets of the Eurasian Economic Union,” Tigran Sargsyan declared.

According to Sargsyan, the parties are ready to activate the dialogue, including the dialogue between India and EEU member states for the signing of an agreement on a Free Economic Zone.

During the meeting, India’s Ambassador emphasized that the Indian party was interested in the speedy conclusion of the agreement with the EEU. Venkatesh Varma informed that India has established effective cooperation with all EEU member states and that institutionalization of the relations at the supranational level will promote the growth of trade and economic relations.
