A man has been shot dead in Dublin as the city grapples with ongoing gang violence, Sky News reported.

The man was found lying outside the gate of a house in Clondalkin, about seven miles west of the city centre just after 2.15pm on Friday.

Gardai confirmed to Sky News that the victim was David Lynch, 42. He died at the scene.

A few minutes later, a Peugeot van was found on fire in the same area and a firearm was found nearby. A silver Toyota Corolla was also found on fire a few miles away in Lucan. Officers are treating the three incidents as being linked and have asked for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
