Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez signed on Monday a decree dissolving both houses of parliament and holding general elections for April 28, TASS reported.

Now the decree will be signed by the king Philip VI. The decree is expected to be published on Tuesday in the Official Government Gazette.

General elections were scheduled for 2020 in Spain. Due to the fact that the country's parliament did not support the draft budget proposed by the Cabinet for the current year, Sanchez decided to announce the holding of early elections in the country.
