Israel’s Premier and Defense Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has signed a decree on recognizing the Al-Aqsa TV company belonging to the HAMAS movement as a terrorist organization, reports TASS, citing the office of the head of government.

“Prime Minister and Defense Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has signed a decree on declaring HAMAS’s Al-Aqsa TV channel a terrorist organization in accordance with the Israeli law on the Fight against Terror,” the Premier’s government agency’s statement reads. “The decision was adopted in accordance with the recommendations of the Israel General Security Service (SHABAK) and the Israeli Anti-Terrorist Command of the Ministry of Defense after SHABAK found out that HAMAS was using the Al-Aqsa satellite channel to gather activists,” the office added.

In November 2018, Israel’s Defense Army attacked the building of the Al-Aqsa TV company in Gaza. This came after the bombardments in Israeli cities, as Israeli servicemen had stated at the time, adding that Al-Aqsa TV channel “is making its contribution to HAMAS’s military operation, also by providing operative information to soldiers and making calls to carry out terrorist acts against Israel”.
