After the revolution, it was expected that a wider circle of oligarchs and officials would face trial, but the impression was that the law enforcers focused only on a few individuals, MP from the “Bright Armenia” party, Arman Babajanyan told Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during the Q&A session in the parliament.
“Why should the brother of the former President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, Sashik Sargsyan donate 18.5-30 million dollars to the state and be able to enjoy holidays in Spain right now?” Babajanyan complained.
In turn, the Prime Minister of Armenia stated that he did not know of a single case in which someone paid a certain amount and then was released from liability.
Pashinyan noted that the Armenian Government did not set any clear quantitative framework as to how many people should be held accountable.
At the same time, the head of government admitted that he was also dissatisfied with the pace and scope of work carried out by law enforcers.
