The Indian Embassy in Tunisia evacuated 15 Indian peacekeepers from Libya amid sharp aggravation of the situation in the North African country, Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted.

The diarchy still reigns in Libya - an elected parliament sits in the east, and a national consensus government headed by Swaraj, ruled by the UN and the EU, rules in Tripoli, in the west.
The authorities in the eastern part of the country operate independently of Tripoli and cooperate with the commander of the Libyan National Army, Marshal Haftar, whose army is engaged in a protracted war with the militants. The UN proposes to hold a general election in Libya in the spring of 2019, the results of which should lead to the formation of legitimate and universally recognized authorities.
