Leader of People’s Party of Armenia Tigran Karapetyan said Raffi Hovannisian took a brave step. Talking to the journalists on Wednesday he called Hovannisian’s decision to go on hunger strike not only a sign of protest but “a desire to waken sleeping society”.  

Eight days ago leader of opposition Heritage Party Raffi Hovannisian went on hunger strike for the sake of freedom. His move was criticized by certain politicians and even opposition members.   

Tigran Karapetyan hailed positive the move adding his attitude towards Hovannisian has changed.

Leader of opposition party stressed Hovannisian should continue hunger strike until he is taken to hospital.  

Commenting on his visit to leader of Heritage party, who has been on hunger strike for 8 days in Liberty Square of Yerevan, the politician noted he wanted to express his support. He did not rule out possibility that the Heritage Party and People’s Party of Armenia may join efforts if the decision is made jointly.
