YEREVAN. – The Investigative Committee of Armenia has launched criminal case into Friday’s explosion on the Yerevan-Sevan motorway. 

The criminal case is launched on charges of murder attempt, as well as illegal acquisition and possession of weapons and ammunition, the committee informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

As reported earlier, a part of a bridge for automobiles was damaged in the aforesaid blast, which led to the damage of a Range Rover and a Nissan.

But no one was affected.

These vehicles were traveling over this bridge during the explosion.

According to Gagik Shamshyan, the Range Rover belongs to former MP, businessman Melik Manukyan, a.k.a. Shshi Melo.

A glass container manufacturing plant belonging to Manukyan is located in the vicinity.
