YEREVAN. – A criminal case has been filed in connection with a small child’s death after being hit by a vehicle in Gegharkunik Province. The Investigative Committee of Armenia informed about this to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to preliminary information, on Tuesday at about 9am, a Gegharkunik resident driving a van violated traffic rules and hit a child—who was born in 2016—on an Astghadzor village road, and negligently caused the death of this child.

The Investigative Committee launched a criminal case into this incident.

A forensic medical examination has been ordered on the body of this child.

A blood sample was taken from the driver of this van, and a forensic chemical examination has been ordered.

An investigation is underway.
