A hunter carelessly shot himself in the leg, in Kotayk Province of Armenia.

On Thursday, at about 8:55am, police received a call from the Hrazdan town hospital that they had admitted a man with a gunshot wound to his leg, shamshyan.com reported.

While doctors were fighting to save his life, police found out that he was a 54-year-old resident of capital city Yerevan.

Law enforcement also found out that this man had carelessly shot himself in the leg with his hunting rifle, and while quail hunting in the field adjacent to Sevan penitentiary.

Police have found and seized the firearm.

Several forensic examinations have been ordered.

The police department is preparing a report on this incident.
