On March 28, Turkish President Abdullah Gul ratified a treaty on strategic partnership with Azerbaijan, 1news.az reports referring to Turkish mass media.

The document indicates that the parties will offer mutual assistance to each other in case one of them undergoes armed attack by a third state or a group of states. Besides, special attention is paid to the military-technical cooperation, establishment of infrastructure with the view of joint military operations, provision of the armed forces with necessary equipment.

The Turkish and Azerbaijani Presidents signed “The agreement on strategic partnership and mutual assistance” between Republic of Azerbaijan and Republic of Turkey in Baku on August 16, 2010.
