A while ago, a 24-year-old mother-to-be died while giving birth in Yerevan, reports Shamshyan.com.
Luiza Avetisyan, 24, had come to Margaryan Maternity Hospital for a checkup four days ago and gave birth to her first, male child this morning.
“Unfortunately, our family’s joy was short-lived. Half an hour ago, we were informed that Luiza had died in unknown conditions. Words can’t describe how we feel. We want the Ministry of Healthcare, under the supervision of Minister Arsen Torosyan, to lead an investigation. True, police officers and investigators are already here, but we want those guilty of the death of Luiza to be brought to justice so that no family’s joy is short-lived ever again. While we were rejoicing for the birth of the child, we also received the news about the mother’s death,” one of the family members said.
Avetisyan’s family blames the doctors for not performing their professional duties faithfully and is trying to get an answer from them, but there is no doctor around.
“True, we can’t bring Luiza back, but we demand the culprits to be punished so that no other family experiences the sorrow that we experienced,” the relatives said.
