The Yerevan Municipality has once more prohibited the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) from holding a rally in Liberty Square in Yerevan.

The Executive Secretary of the “Armenian National Movement party” Vahagn Hayotsyan submitted notice to Yerevan City Hall on holding a rally at Liberty Square and procession along Mashtots Avenue on April 14, 15, 16. Other events are scheduled to take place in the mentioned places these days, the City Hall said in a statement.

The Yerevan Mayor’s authorized representative proposed that the ANC hold its rally in front of the Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, a traditional site the ANC led by Armenia’s first president Levon Ter-Petrosyan holds its rallies, Yerevan Municipality website reports.
