On April 1, Armenia’s Ambassador to Ethiopia Armen Melkonyan (residence-Cairo) presented his credentials to Ethiopian President Girma Wolde-Giorgis in Addis Ababa.
The Ethiopian President noted the spiritual and cultural similarities between two people serve as an important basis for expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in different spheres, the press service of Armenian Foreign Office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. The sides attached importance to the role of the Armenian community in Ethiopia’s public and cultural life. The officials also exchanged views on international and regional issues.
Girma Wolde-Giorgis conveyed the Armenian President his warm greetings and his country’s readiness to deepen friendly relations with Armenia.
Melkonyan also discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation with Ethiopia’s Foreign Minister, as well as Culture, Tourism, Finance and Economic Development Ministers. Later, the Ambassador met with representatives of the Armenian community in Ethiopia
