At least 1,200 others were injured, one killed in antigovernmental protests in Taez, southern Yemen.

According to medics and witnesses, Yemeni security forces opened fire on protestors. The police used tear gas and batons to disperse demonstrators. The local authorities refuted the information saying 8 law enforcement agents were injured in the clashes, Lenta.ru reports.

A wave of mass demonstration has swept away in Yemen since February against President Saleh, who has been in power for 32 years.
