YEREVAN. - It is too early to speak of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) as "marginalized," ANC Central Office Coordinator Levon Zurabyan told journalists April 5, responding to a warning by Zhirair Sefilyan, an action group member, Sardarapat movement. He particularly called on the ANC to "turn away from cooperating with the authorities; otherwise it will find itself on the margins."

As to Sefilyan`s call for the ANC to change its slogan "Levon is President", Zurabyan said that the ANC does not invent any slogans nor does it force the people to accept it. "The people themselves are chanting the slogans they like. No one prevents other people from chant different slogans," Zurabyan said.

As regards the statement made by Tigran Khzmalyan, a member of the Sardarapat movement, that Armenia has found itself in the role of the Groundhog Day heroes - darkness is reigning in the country, but political spring never comes - Zurabyan said: "Who is in the dark? We are not. We have seen in our political spring and are succeeding. I urge everyone to turn down all the personal and narrow party interests, as a historic struggle for national liberation is unfolding in Armenia."

Zurabyan also commented on the Facebook claim by Chairman of the Heritage parliamentary faction Stepan Safaryan that Levon Ter-Petrosyan allegedly called the people that near the monument to Myasnikyan on March 1, 2008, "not my people." "Safaryan also claimed he had seen me at Ter-Petrosyan`s home. Take from me, he cannot have seen me. I was at Ter-Petrosyan`s very late. Ones believing Baron Munchhausen may believe Safaryan," Zurabyan said.
