YEREVAN. - Cargo transportation from Georgia to Armenia, suspended due to radioactive cargo found in the Georgian port of Batumi, was resumed on Tuesday few hours later.

Head of Apaven company Gagik Aghajanyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that currently cargo transportation from Georgia to Armenia is carried out in due course.

The Georgian Rustavi 2 television reported on Tuesday that cargo with a high level of radiation was found in the port of Batumi. Later port was closed, while the staff was evacuated. Radioactive source cesium-137 was found in the carriage with scrap metal. The South Caucasus Railways (SCR) reported that at the moment there are no SCR carriages in Batumi, and all goods are transported via the port of Poti.
