YEREVAN. - Armenia has rather weak positions on the Karabakh issue in the international arena, says the Armenian expert.

During the press conference Manvel Sargsyan, newly appointed head of the Armenian Center for National and International Studies, said Yerevan should raise the question of Stepanakert’s participation in talks to advance the peace process.

Commenting on Azerbaijan’s intention to shoot down aircrafts heading to Karabakh, Sargsyan noted tough position of Armenia and international community killed Baku’s enthusiasm. Armenian leader’s announcement he would become the first passenger of Yerevan-Stepanakert flight was a demarche of the Armenian side, the expert added. Sargsyan considers that the first flight should be operated on May 9.
