YEREVAN. - The Armenian Government holds constrictive dialogue with oppositional Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun (ARFD), Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said during government’s session on Thursday.

Premier Sargsyan instructed Armenian Minister of Finances Vache Gabrielyan to invite members of ARFD parliamentary group to the ministry and discuss their proposals for minimum monthly wages.

The government earlier prepared a negative conclusion for ARFD’s legislative initiative, calling for a sharp increase in minimum monthly wages in Armenia.

ARFD proposes to define the minimum wage in amount of 50% of the state average wage and to adjust it every year according to the inflation rate. ARFD believes that minimum wages should exceed AMD 50,000 against present AMD 32,500.

The government explained that increase in minimum wages will reduce budget revenues and increase expenses, triggering inflation.
