Two subspecies of trout have been released into Lake Sevan. The Minister of Environment of Armenia, Erik Grigoryan, informed this on his Facebook page.

“In the frame of the «Restoration of Sevan Trout Resources and Fisheries Development Program», on November 20, 2019, in Lake Sevan were released smolts of Sevan Trout grown at Karchaghbyur fish growing factory: 11,000 of summer subspecies with a mean biomass of 22.5 grams and 40,000 of gegharkuni subspecies with a mean biomass of 3.5 grams.” The minister wrote. “The releases will continue.”
